Lead Mechanical Design Engineer - GE Vernova - Lisburn, United Kingdom

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work within a cross- functional team to achieve the agreed deliverables, from concept to delivery. 


• Act as the mechanical design authority within the customer project engineering team, and occasionally for other teams, ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner.


• Review design drawings within various stages of the design process and ensure approval is given timely. Provide constructive feedback and guidance where the design is out of scope or not right for the required application.


• Lead on standardization, continuous improvement or other lean activities as requested, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost outcomes are considered, such as, kaizen, RCA, 8D.


• Ensure the team culture and prioritization of work is focused on our customer needs, empowering individuals through teamwork, accountability, problem solving, listening and acting.


• Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical (or equivalent with experience).


• Significant proven experience in an industrial setting.


• CAD tools experience - Certified in Solidworks / AutoCAD with experience of creating detailed drawings, BOMs and specifications.


• Proven experience in approving engineering designs across multiple system types.


• Trained in lean tools and processes.
