Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work at one of our partner primary schools in Bushbury, Wolverhampton. This is a full-time position starting in January 2027 and continuing until the end of the academic year, offering a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as providing general classroom support across the school.

The school are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can work across different year groups, supporting class teachers with daily learning activities and providing additional assistance to pupils with SEND. You will play an important role in helping children access the curriculum, develop their confidence and make progress in a positive learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Providing classroom support across different year groups, assisting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.
• Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Delivering targeted interventions to help pupils develop their understanding and make progress in key areas of learning.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence within the classroom.
• Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.

Required Skills and Experience as a Teaching Assistant:

• Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, both individually and in small groups.
• A good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and the ability to support learning across different year groups.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
• A patient, proactive and flexible approach to supporting children's individual learning needs.
