Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Burntwood on a long-term basis. The school offers a positive and nurturing learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their skills, confidence and enthusiasm for learning. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children throughout their primary education, from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 6.

Our client wants to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work alongside the class teacher, supporting pupils with their learning and helping to ensure lessons run smoothly. Responsibilities will include assisting with classroom activities, providing additional support to individuals and small groups, and helping pupils develop their reading, writing and maths skills. The successful candidate may also support children with additional needs and help create an inclusive classroom where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

This is due to start ASAP until the end of the academic year. 

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

• Experience working in primary schools in the UK

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or relevant experience

• Experience supporting children across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

• Experience assisting with classroom learning and activities

• Experience providing 1:1 and small-group support

• Supporting pupils with reading, writing and mathematics

• Helping children develop confidence and independence

• Effectively manage behaviour and encourage positive learning habits

• Motivating pupils to engage with classroom activities

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development

• Experience supporting children with SEN would be advantageous

• Working closely with the class teacher and other school staff

• Building positive relationships with pupils

• A proactive, enthusiastic and patient approach

• Commitment to the role

• Being flexible when needed

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant you will receive:

• £92.59 day rate to £100 day rate which equates to £18,055 per annum to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
