About the Role

We are working with a leading London Market insurance broker looking to appoint a Claims Broker/Technician to join its specialist Special Risks team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with London Market claims experience to join a highly regarded team handling Binding Authority and US Property claims. The successful candidate will manage claims matters from First Notification of Loss through to settlement, working closely with Underwriters, Coverholders, Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs), Brokers and other market stakeholders.
The position offers broad exposure across claims broking, delegated authority claims, loss funds, bordereaux and claims data, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their technical expertise within this area of the market.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage claims from First Notification of Loss through to settlement, ensuring matters are handled efficiently and within agreed service standards

  • Review and process individual claims through Global XB and CLASS, ensuring accurate and timely entry

  • Liaise directly with Underwriters, Coverholders and DCAs, communicating responses, queries and claims developments to the appropriate parties

  • Maintain and manage claims diaries, ensuring outstanding matters are progressed and records remain accurate and up to date

  • Prepare and provide loss runs as required

  • Monitor the processing of claims bordereaux, ensuring agreed deadlines are achieved

  • Manage and monitor loss funds, ensuring DCAs have sufficient funding across existing and new contracts and facilitating the return of funds to Underwriters where appropriate

  • Develop strong working relationships with Underwriters, DCAs, Attorneys, Experts and other claims stakeholders

  • Work closely with Brokers and Account Handlers to support their ongoing claims requirements

  • Support claims data and analytics, including the management and interpretation of large datasets

  • Work collaboratively with wider operational teams to support the efficient processing and payment of claims

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in accordance with internal procedures and market requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Claims experience

  • Working knowledge of the Lloyd’s and company markets

  • Experience of Binding Authority / Delegated Authority business

  • Knowledge of US business

  • A good understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Delegated Claims Administrator (DCA)

  • Working knowledge of ECF and the Xchanging process for signing claims

  • Good knowledge of relevant Lloyd’s initiatives and market practices

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and highly experienced London Market team, gaining exposure to complex US Property and Binding Authority claims while developing relationships across the Lloyd’s and company markets.

The role would suit an existing Claims Broker or Claims Technician with delegated authority exposure who is looking to broaden their experience and continue developing within a specialist claims environment.
