Registered Manager (Registered Nurse)

£56,638 per annum | Nursing Home for Adults with Disabilities | Charity Provider

An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to lead a small nursing home in Colchester, supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and high-dependency needs.

The home is run by a charity with a strong focus on person-centred care, promoting independence and helping people live fulfilling lives. There is an established, experienced staff team in place, with a shared commitment to providing high-quality, individualised support.

The Registered Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, leading the team and ensuring care is delivered safely, effectively and in line with CQC requirements. The role also involves working with colleagues across the wider organisation to maintain standards, develop the service and support positive outcomes for the people living there.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day management and overall running of the home
• Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, relevant legislation and organisational policies
• Lead, support and develop the staff team through supervision, guidance and ongoing development
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to improve service delivery
• Complete audits in line with the governance calendar and follow up on any actions required
• Manage staffing rotas and resources, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective budget management
• Promote a person-centred approach that supports independence, dignity and quality of life

What we’re looking for:

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN
• Experience as a Registered Manager, or substantial experience as a Deputy Manager or Clinical Lead within a CQC-regulated service, such as a nursing home, residential home or supported living service
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or complex care needs would be beneficial. Applications from nurses with strong management experience in other care settings, including older people’s services, will also be considered
• Level 5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards it
• A good understanding of CQC requirements, relevant legislation and quality assurance
• Strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
