Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist (Stage 4 Detailed Design)

JustEng is partnering with an established, employee-owned RICS & RIBA chartered property and construction consultancy — a 100+ strong multidisciplinary practice with over 35 years’ experience — to appoint a Technical Architect / Architectural Technologist to produce RIBA Stage 4 detailed construction drawings on residential projects, including high-rise.

This is a hands-on technical design role for someone who enjoys turning developed design into buildable, compliant detail. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and have genuine support to grow your technical skills and professional qualifications.

The opportunity

• Produce RIBA Stage 4 technical design and detailed construction drawing packages for residential schemes, including high-rise
• Develop detailed packages in Revit (BIM), coordinating with structural, civil, MEP and fire disciplines
• Translate concept and developed design into accurate, buildable construction detail
• Produce GA drawings, construction details, schedules and specifications
• Help ensure compliance with Building Regulations and, on higher-risk residential buildings, Building Safety Act / Gateway requirements
• Collaborate across the wider team — architecture, structural & civil, MEP, surveying and project management
• Base yourself at the Braintree hub, or the London or Birmingham office, with role-dependent hybrid working

About you

• A background as a Technical Architect, Architectural Technologist or senior CAD/BIM technician
• Strong detailing ability on Stage 4 detailed construction drawings — residential / high-rise experience ideal
• Revit proficiency is ideal — OR a strong 2D/3D CAD detailing background (e.g. StruCad / AutoCAD) and a genuine willingness to train into Revit
• Sound working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
• Awareness of the Building Safety Act and higher-risk (high-rise) residential requirements (desirable)
• CIAT membership or working toward it, or ARB / RIBA registration — ideal, not essential
• Eligible to work in the UK
