A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Gloucester is seeking a confident Year 6 Teacher to join their team after the October half-term break. This is a full-time, fixed-term role until Christmas, with all planning responsibilities initially included.

This role is ideal for an experienced Year 6 Teacher who can confidently plan and deliver engaging lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school. The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher who can deliver high-quality teaching, support pupils in achieving their potential, and ensure continuity of learning throughout the remainder of the autumn term.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing learning across the Year 6 curriculum. You will play an important role in supporting pupils' academic progress, preparing them for the expectations of secondary education, and creating a structured and inclusive classroom environment where all children can succeed.

As a Year 6 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage Two National Curriculum.

• Taking full responsibility for teaching a Year 6 class on a full-time basis.

• Managing all planning responsibilities initially, ensuring lessons are well-structured and meet the needs of all pupils.

• Preparing pupils for the transition to secondary school by developing their confidence, independence, and learning skills.

• Differentiating learning to meet the needs and abilities of all pupils.

• Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress to identify areas for development.

• Creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.

• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and promoting positive attitudes towards learning.

• Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team to support pupil development.

• Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, social development, and academic progress.

To be successful in this Year 6 Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Previous experience teaching within Key Stage Two, ideally in Year 6.

• A strong understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum and Year 6 learning objectives.

• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• The ability to assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.

• A patient, flexible, and professional approach.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

• Strong communication, organisational, and time-management skills.

• The confidence to take responsibility for all planning and teaching within the role.
