Associate - Construction

We are looking for a construction lawyer with 3+ years of post qualification experience to join JMW’s highly regarded Construction team based in Manchester city centre.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated construction lawyer ideally with a mix of experience of non-contentious and contentious work to join as an Associate, Senior Associate or Partner and will work on a variety of work across the spectrum of construction and engineering in the UK.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We are looking for a driven and ambitious Associate around 3 years’ PQE, though we welcome applications from candidates with broader experience. In addition, you will have:

• Experience in construction law preferably non-contentious but the role will also involve contentious work
• A knowledge of key areas of the law including the main published standard forms of Building Contract
• Experience of providing practical commercial advice which a lay client understands
• Ambition and aptitude to improve and develop as a lawyer
• A focus and attention to detail in client care
• Experience of managing relationships with clients
• Experience of managing other fee earners, the role will involve supporting junior members of the team
• A drive to market to clients including cross selling to colleagues working in diverse areas of law
• Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
• A strong sense of commerciality in your approach and advice to clients
• Excellent organisation skills.
