About the role

KS1 Teacher | Inspiring the First Big Steps (Year 1 & 2)

Role: Key Stage 1 Teacher (Full-Time)

Location: Lichfield & Surrounding Areas

Salary: £140 - £233 Per Day

Contract: Fixed Term

Are you ready to build the foundation for a lifetime of learning?

The early years of school are where the magic happens. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and patient KS1 Teacher to join a friendly primary school in Tamworth. Whether you're turning phonics into an adventure or making basic addition feel like a game, we want a teacher who knows how to keep 5-to-7-year-olds curious and engaged.

This is a full-time, temporary role for a professional who loves the "lightbulb moments" that come with teaching Year 1 and Year 2.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive Pay: £140 - £233 per day, strictly adhered to MPS/UPS scales and paid weekly.
  • Creative Freedom: A supportive environment where your "big ideas" for the classroom are encouraged.
  • Professional Growth: Access to a robust CPD program focusing on early childhood development and phonics.
  • Community Spirit: Join a collaborative staff room that values teamwork and shared resources over "silos."

The Ideal "Early Years Expert"

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Are Qualified: You hold QTS (Early Career Teachers / ECTs are very welcome!).
  • Are a Phonics Pro: You have experience delivering phonics programs (such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle).
  • Are Engaging: You have the energy and classroom management skills to keep a KS1 class focused and happy.
  • Are Safe: You are 100% committed to safeguarding and the holistic welfare of every child.

Your Core Responsibilities

  • Plan & Deliver: Create high-quality, play-infused lessons that meet the National Curriculum standards for KS1.
  • Nurture: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where children feel brave enough to try new things.
  • Assess: Use formative assessment to track early reading, writing, and maths progress, ensuring no child falls behind.
  • Partner: Work closely with parents and Teaching Assistants to support each child's unique learning journey.
