Working at Liverpool City Council provides an opportunity to contribute to your community and make a positive impact on the lives of residents. Working as part of our Digital Technology Team, you’ll help build, test and support solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams, with opportunities to develop wider technical skills where appropriate.

You’ll support both business-as-usual services and approved digital transformation initiatives, helping colleagues understand requirements, resolve issues and make improvements that support better services for residents and staff.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Support M365 development activity – Help design, build, test and maintain Microsoft 365 solutions that meet user and service needs
  • Develop and improve applications – Work with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams to support new and existing solutions
  • Follow agreed standards – Apply development, testing, security and governance standards, asking for guidance where needed
  • Support and maintain existing solutions – Investigate issues, support fixes and contribute to improvements that make M365 solutions reliable, consistent and easy to maintain
  • Work with others – Collaborate with developers, business analysts, testers, ICT colleagues and service areas to understand requirements and support successful delivery
  • Learn and develop – Build your skills through hands-on experience, feedback and support from experienced developers and technical leads

Why join us

  • You’ll help develop and support Microsoft 365 solutions used across Liverpool City Council
  • You’ll gain hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams
  • You’ll be supported to learn, develop and grow your technical skills within an experienced development team
  • You’ll contribute to digital transformation work that helps improve services for residents and staff
  • You’ll work in a collaborative team where curiosity, problem solving and continuous improvement are valued

Our offer to you:

  • At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) - option to purchase further days
  • Agile working (role dependent) - a “Flexibility First” approach to agile working, where flexibility is the norm rather than the exception
  • Part of the Local Government Pension Scheme – option to join the AVC Scheme
