About the role
Home Manager
Bourne View, Poole, BH12 5BN
£90,000 per annum plus bonus
40 hours per week, including rostered weekends, occasional night visits and emergency on-call duties shared with the home’s management team
Colten Care is recruiting a Home Manager for Bourne View our 68-bed, CQC Good-rated home in Poole.
You’ll lead the home’s team and manage its resources so that every resident can enjoy a dignified and fulfilling life. Working closely with your Clinical Lead you’ll ensure that the quality of care and service consistently meets our own high standards and those of our external regulators.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will create and lead a clear vision for the home, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting the team to maintain Bourne View’s Good CQC rating.
Managing a care home is a complex, influential and highly rewarding role. Alongside leading people, resources and processes, you will build strong relationships with residents, their families, professional contacts and multidisciplinary teams.
You’ll also have plenty of scope to build community relationships, grow the home’s local profile and identify marketing opportunities. Our customer service and marketing teams will support you in promoting the home to build and maintain strong occupancy.
What can you bring?
Our ideal candidate will have:
Relevant care home management experience, including experience in a care setting for older people
A strong track record of performance in line with CQC standards and expectations
Experience within the private sector, ideally in a medium or large nursing home
A good understanding of the commercial and operational aspects of running a care home
An interest in marketing, community engagement and maintaining strong occupancy
Excellent leadership and communication skills
A passion for older persons care
A nursing qualification would be an advantage but is not essential, as you will be supported by an experienced Clinical Lead. A Level 5 Diploma or NVQ in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, is also desirable.
As the role involves travel during working hours, you must have access to a suitable vehicle, a full UK driving licence, and motor insurance covering business use.
You’ll share our values and be friendly, kind, honest and reassuring. Above all, you’ll share our commitment to delivering excellent person-centred care for every resident.
What we offer
In return, you’ll receive a full induction, ongoing training and extensive support from our network of clinical and professional teams.
Benefits include:
25 days’ annual leave plus eight bank holidays
Annual pay review
Company pension scheme
Reimbursement of relevant annual professional subscriptions, including NMC registration
Revalidation support for qualified nurses
Support with further study and diploma qualifications
Free meals and refreshments while on duty
Required background checks at no cost to you
