We’re looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager – Plant & Machinery to join a strong and motivated team in Sleaford. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with experience in construction, plant or agricultural machinery to take ownership of a designated territory and help drive continued growth.

You’ll manage an established customer base while proactively developing new business, promoting leading machinery and building long-term relationships with customers across your territory.

Key Responsibilities

As an Area Sales Manager – Plant & Machinery, you’ll be responsible for developing sales and customer relationships across your designated territory.

• Manage and develop existing customer accounts.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting and cold calling.
• Promote construction machinery and equipment to new and existing customers.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers.
• Understand customer requirements and provide expert machinery advice.
• Demonstrate equipment to customers when required.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and close new business.
• Work towards and exceed agreed sales targets.
• Plan customer visits and manage your territory effectively.
• Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
• Work closely with the wider branch and sales team to maximise opportunities.
• Ensure company Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a confident, target-driven sales professional with strong machinery knowledge and a genuine interest in the industry.

• Proven sales experience, ideally within construction, plant or agricultural equipment.
• Strong knowledge of plant, machinery and the wider industry.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both face-to-face and remotely.
• Experience managing existing accounts and developing long-term relationships.
• A proven ability to identify new opportunities, upsell and close sales.
• A track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Confident influencing, negotiating and persuading customers.
• Experience demonstrating machinery or equipment to customers.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel.
• Confident using Google Maps for route planning and customer visits.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being an effective team player.
• Professional and presentable approach.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to attend training and maintain product knowledge.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
