Healthcare Assistant – Paediatric Urgent Care

Rate: £13-£15 per hour (Ltd / PAYE)

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants with paediatric expertise to join urgent care services across the North West. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside clinical teams in a fast-paced environment, supporting children and young people with flexible ad hoc and ongoing locum shifts available.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians in the care and assessment of children and young people.
• Record patient observations and clinical measurements accurately.
• Prepare clinical rooms, equipment and supplies to ensure readiness.
• Maintain precise patient records and uphold infection control standards.
• Support children, parents and carers throughout their attendance.
• Adhere to safeguarding procedures and escalate any concerns appropriately.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Essential paediatric healthcare experience.
• Good understanding of safeguarding children and young people.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Possession of the Care Certificate or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience in paediatric urgent care or emergency departments is advantageous.
• NHS Smartcard, where required.
