Mobile Caretaker

Vertas delivers trusted, integrated facilities management solutions across Great Britain. Our team of over 5,000 colleagues provides a comprehensive range of services, including cleaning, catering, property design, recruitment, transport, and environmental management. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do while prioritising the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues.

Based in the Matlock area, you will work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day, between 7:00am and 7:00pm, 52 weeks per year.
As a Mobile Caretaker, you will play a key role in delivering high quality caretaking services, ensuring our facilities are safe, clean, and well maintained at all times.

• Waste management
• Opening and locking facilities (Key Holder responsibilities)
• Porterage duties
• Light decorating
• General maintenance tasks
• Cleaning duties

We are looking for someone who:

• Has excellent customer service and communication skills
• Has experience in a similar role, such as caretaking, maintenance, trades, or general handyperson work
• Works well as part of a team and takes pride in delivering excellent service
• Can make effective decisions with the best interests of Vertas in mind
• Listens and responds positively to colleagues, customers, and suppliers
• Can adapt to change and thrive in a growing organisation

Experience with Legionella control and fire alarm systems would be desirable but is not essential.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Excellent attention to detail to maintain high standards of cleanliness and site presentation
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A good understanding of health and safety requirements
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
