About the role

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented freelance Design Artworker to support the delivery of local store marketing campaigns and promotional activity. This is a hands-on role that sits at the heart of our creative production process, ensuring creative assets are accurately developed, quality checked, and delivered across a variety of formats and channels.

A key focus of the position will be supporting the implementation and optimisation of our new automated creative workflow. Working closely with the Design Lead, you will help manage and refine template-based creative solutions whilst collaborating with external production partners responsible for generating automated artwork.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of design production, has a keen eye for detail, and is passionate about maintaining brand consistency across high-volume campaign outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and develop artwork from creative briefs, layouts, and design concepts provided by Design Leads, Designers, and Producers.
  • Build, adapt, and maintain campaign master artwork across a range of formats and channels.
  • Support the development and refinement of templates within our Chilli and automated creative platforms.
  • Ensure all artwork adheres to brand guidelines and quality standards.
  • Prepare and optimise photography, graphics, and supporting assets for final production.
  • Manage the handover of completed artwork to Studio and Production teams for output and delivery.
  • Work alongside the Design Lead to coordinate and manage relationships with third-party creative production partners.
  • Review, test, and quality check automated creative outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Identify and resolve artwork, formatting, or automation issues proactively.
  • Support continuous improvements to creative workflows and automated production processes.
  • Help ensure local promotional offers and marketing materials are effectively translated into scalable automated solutions.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Experience producing artwork for both print and digital channels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience working with templated or automated creative production workflows.
  • Ability to interpret and apply brand guidelines consistently.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident working independently and managing your own workload.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects.
  • Exposure to creative automation platforms, including Chilli or similar systems.
  • Previous experience working with external production agencies or creative suppliers.
  • Knowledge of large-scale campaign production and marketing asset localisation.

What We're Looking For:

The successful candidate will combine strong technical artwork skills with a collaborative approach and a passion for process improvement. You'll be comfortable working within established brand frameworks, spotting inconsistencies before they become issues, and helping to drive the successful adoption of automated creative solutions.

Most importantly, you'll take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work and be confident supporting both internal stakeholders and external creative partners throughout the production lifecycle.
