About the Role

As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teaching and learning in Year 1 or Year 2.
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Helping pupils develop early reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• Supporting phonics activities and classroom routines.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Providing additional support to pupils with different learning needs.
• Working closely with class teachers and other school staff.

Responsibilities will vary depending on the school and assignment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous experience supporting children in a UK primary school.
• A good understanding of KS1 learning and development.
• Confidence supporting phonics, literacy and numeracy.
• A patient, positive and encouraging approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be welcome, although relevant classroom experience is equally important.
