Our client in the defence and security sector is seeking a Systems Engineer for an initial 12-month contract based in Wimborne. The role focuses on front-end systems engineering across the left-hand side of the V-model, including requirements capture, systems architecture, modelling and design, with progression through to Verification and Validation (V&V).

Key Responsibilities:

• Capturing, analysing and managing system requirements
• Developing and maintaining system architectures
• Applying Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to systems development
• Creating system models and supporting design activities
• Managing technical traceability across the systems engineering lifecycle
• Supporting the progression of systems from early definition through to Verification and Validation
• Working collaboratively with engineering, project and customer teams

Job Requirements:

• Experience in systems engineering within the defence, security or other highly regulated environment
• Strong understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering and systems engineering processes
• Experience in requirements capture and management
• Knowledge of systems architecture, modelling and design
• Understanding of the V-model and experience progressing systems through to Verification and Validation
• Experience using Sparx Enterprise Architect would be advantageous
• Familiarity with SysML, UML or IBM Rhapsody is desirable
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly

Contract Details:

• Initial 12-month contract
• Based in Wimborne, with a preference for three days onsite per week
• Fully remote working may be considered, with occasional onsite attendance for those meeting the technical requirements
• BPSS clearance is required
• One-stage interview process conducted via Microsoft Teams
