Role Highlights for an SEN Teaching Assistant Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Pay: £85.50-£110 per day, depending on experience and assignment. Location: Waltham Forest, London. Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks. Working pattern: Assignments matched to your availability and experience.Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could provide one-to-one or small-group support, following the class teacher's guidance and pupils' individual support plans. Break learning tasks into clear steps and reinforce instructions using agreed visual or verbal prompts. Support communication, participation and independence during lessons and school routines. Help pupils manage transitions and recognise when they need additional reassurance or a planned break. Share observations with the teacher and SENCO so support can be adjusted to pupils' progress.What We Are Looking For in an SEN Teaching Assistant Experience supporting children with SEND in a school, childcare or another relevant setting. An SEN Teaching Assistant who is attentive, dependable and comfortable following individual support strategies. Clear communication, safeguarding awareness and a willingness to learn the school's approaches.
