Sellick Partnership has been exclusively retained to recruit an experienced Regional Programme Adviser for a high-profile national public-sector programme working across local government, central government, housing, regeneration and public land/assets.
This is a stakeholder-led programme role and we are specifically looking for candidates with experience working within, or extensively alongside, local government.
The role
Working closely with senior programme colleagues, you will support delivery across councils, combined authorities and government departments.
Responsibilities will include:
Building effective relationships with councils and other public-sector stakeholders
Supporting projects around housing, regeneration, public land/assets and government funding
Analysing complex data and performance information and identifying the key messages
Turning analysis into clear written reports, briefing papers and verbal updates
Monitoring project pipelines, risks, milestones and delivery progress
Supporting funding administration, assessment, monitoring and reporting
Organising meetings, events and webinars
Confidently participating in and facilitating meetings, webinars and Board-level activity
Research, quality assurance and wider programme support.
About you - please read before applying
To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate:
Experience working within or closely with local government/public-sector organisations
Strong stakeholder-management skills, ideally dealing with people at different levels of seniority
An understanding of political environments and how to communicate appropriately with officers, senior leaders and elected Members
Strong experience analysing information/data and turning it into clear, accessible outputs
Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
Experience managing multiple projects, workstreams, deadlines and priorities
Confidence presenting information verbally and contributing to meetings/events
Strong organisation and attention to detail
A genuine interest in housing, regeneration, property/public assets and place-based deliveryDirect property, housing or regeneration experience is advantageous but not essential. However, strong local-government experience, stakeholder engagement and analytical/programme skills are essential.
This is not a general project administration role. We are looking for someone who can work independently, analyse complex information, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and understand the sensitivities of working across politically led public-sector organisations.
Interested?
If you meet the essential requirements above, please apply with an up-to-date CV clearly demonstrating your local-government experience, stakeholder engagement, data/analytical skills, programme/project delivery and written/verbal communication experience.
Applications that do not demonstrate the core public-sector, stakeholder and analytical requirements are unlikely to be progressed.
