Deputy Works Manager

As Deputy Works Manager, you’ll support the Works/Production Manager in overseeing day-shift operations at a company in the steel industry. You’ll help ensure the factory runs safely and efficiently, meets production schedules and maintains high standards across all areas of production.

THE ROLE:

• Lead and support day-shift production teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality output. Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Manage staff conduct, communication, conflict and performance issues fairly and consistently.
• Maintain an efficient workflow and help ensure production targets are met.
• Uphold health and safety standards, challenging unsafe behaviour immediately.
• Coordinate labour, machinery and materials to support smooth factory operations.
• Work with subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure compliance and quality.
• Provide accurate daily reports, highlighting risks, delays and resource requirements.
• Set a professional example, maintaining appropriate boundaries and managerial objectivity.

THE CANDIDATES:

• A solid understanding of health and safety, compliance and production processes.
• Experience in steelwork, manufacturing or engineering environments is highly desirable.
