Financial Controller - Gateshead Area

A growing North East manufacturing business is seeking a Financial Controller to join its leadership team in a newly created position.

This is a broad and hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function, improve existing processes and build a team to support the continued growth of the business.

Working closely with the Finance Director you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, strengthening controls and providing meaningful insight to support operational and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Development and enhancement of financial controls and processes
• Business partnering with operational stakeholders
• Managing audits and statutory requirements
• Building, mentoring and developing the finance team
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the finance function
• Supporting strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred)
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or operational environment
• Strong management accounting, reporting and business partnering skills
• Ability to work both strategically and hands-on
• Experience improving processes and implementing financial controls
• Leadership experience or a desire to develop and build a team
