About the RoleWe are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming educational setting in Barnsley, S71. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their learning and development.
The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment where children feel supported, confident and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Previous experience working within an EYFS setting or nursery is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who understands the needs of young children, is confident supporting early years development and can contribute positively to the daily running of the setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher and wider team in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Provide support to children with their learning, communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, independence and confidence.
• Assist with planning and preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
• Observe children’s progress and development, sharing relevant information with the class teacher and other members of staff.
• Encourage positive behaviour, good routines and positive relationships between children.
• Support children’s personal care and daily routines where required, including promoting good hygiene and independence.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all children receive high-quality care, support and learning opportunities.
• Follow safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements and the setting’s policies at all times.

The Ideal CandidateTo be considered for this position, you will:

• Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Have essential previous experience working in an EYFS, early years or nursery setting.
• Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
• Be warm, patient, approachable and passionate about helping young children learn and develop.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, reliable and able to use your initiative while working as part of a team.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Be able to build positive, supportive relationships with children, staff and families.
