Design Director

An independent, founder-led brand and design studio – a certified B Corp, now running design work for very large global consumer brands – is at a genuine turning point. The three founders are continuing to build a layer of leadership beneath them- for the right person, there is real room to rise.

The studio is scaling into major accounts, including new work in the US, and needs creatives who can own the work rather than wait to be told what it should be.

The Role
Leading the design team, you’ll run projects day-to-day from brief to launch, not just executing someone else’s direction. You’ll set the standard for creative quality, interrogating work for brand distinctiveness and craft precision, and you’ll mentor designers and give feedback that builds their capability and confidence.

Partnering with strategy, project and client teams to keep thinking and execution aligned, and you’ll scope, phase and assign across delivery, presenting work to senior client stakeholders and selling the thinking behind it too – on commercially significant briefs, with clients who have assembled large parts of their business to see this studio.

The Person
You’re a Design Director from a strong brand or packaging agency. Your portfolio looks world-class, but it’s your thinking that leads; you’re someone who can take the core of an idea and stretch it across a whole brand. 

You’ve worked on large, complex consumer accounts with senior client-side stakeholders, and you can hold a room with real confidence.
