About the role

Pastoral Lead Teaching Assistant

32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Fixed term until 31st August 2027

Grade 3 TA SCP 7-17

Hollymount School, as part of the Black Pear Trust, is an exciting place; our motto “Inspiring Success” sits at the heart of everything we do for our children and our staff. Our teaching assistants are a valued part of our school team and are involved in all aspects of school life. The Black Pear Trust offers a comprehensive training offer for professional development and supports colleagues' interests and ambitions.

We are seeking an ELSA/THRIVE qualified specialist to join our wonderful and dedicated team at Hollymount. This is a brand new role within Hollymount to lead and deliver effective pastoral support across the school, promoting children's social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), well-being, attendance and personal development.

The Pastoral Lead Teaching Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that children feel safe, valued, included and ready to learn, recognising that children need to feel socially and emotionally secure in order to achieve their full potential. The postholder will develop positive relationships with children and families, lead targeted SEMH interventions and work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENDCo, the Senior Leadership Team and external professionals to identify and address barriers to learning. A key aspect of the role will be supporting and improving school attendance through early identification of concerns, effective communication with families and the implementation of appropriate support strategies.

The successful candidate will contribute to Hollymount School's inclusive ethos, ensuring that provision is responsive to children's individual needs and that every child is supported to develop confidence, resilience, independence and a strong sense of belonging. The postholder will model the Hollymount values of Proud to be me, Enjoy Learning, Achieve Success and Respect for the World, ensuring that these values underpin all aspects of pastoral provision.

Please see attached job pack and job description for further details on the role and school.

We reserve the right to end this post early should the requisite number of candidates apply.
