The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to support services across South East.

This locum opportunity runs from ASAP to 31 December 2026, offering a varied role across inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and on-call services. The position is well suited to an experienced Gastroenterology Consultant who is confident managing complex cases and supporting service delivery within a busy NHS environment.

You will work alongside established multidisciplinary teams, helping to maintain high standards of patient care while supporting weekend and on-call service provision.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality Gastroenterology care across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Conduct Gastroenterology clinics and provide specialist patient assessments
• Support ward-based care, including review and management of Gastroenterology inpatients
• Participate in the consultant on-call rota as required
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, AHPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
• Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice to support safe and effective patient care
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-functioning clinical environment

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Gastroenterology
• Recent NHS Consultant-level experience in Gastroenterology
• Ability to work independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
