Area Sales Manager

Industry: Structural steelwork and contracting. Working in London 4 days per week.

A well-established business in the structural steel industry is seeking a proactive, autonomous Sales Manager to support its continued growth. Ideally based in counties around the M25 area, you’ll identify and secure profitable new business, develop client relationships and represent the business across the construction sector.

The Role:

• Develop and deliver a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets.
• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities.
• Manage and grow existing client relationships to maximise sales opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Develop relationships with client teams, consultants and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, competitors and emerging opportunities.
• Grow sales of manufactured steel through meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
• Promote the business and its services to increase brand visibility.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth project delivery.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
• Represent the business professionally, with technical confidence and commercial discipline.

The Candidate

You’ll be a driven, high-performing sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys building strong, lasting relationships. You’ll also bring:

• Experience in structural steel construction or a related industry.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work autonomously.
• A track record of identifying opportunities and converting them into profitable business.
• Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to develop strategic relationships with contractors, developers, architects, consultants and specialist supply chains.
• Commercial awareness and confidence representing a business at meetings and industry events.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate pipeline, CRM and forecasting information.
• An interest in contributing to the continued growth of an employee-owned business.

The Salary & Benefits:

• 37.5-hour working week.
• £45,000–£55,000 DOE, plus bonus, car allowance and benefits
• 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays and Christmas shutdown.
