SEND 2:1 Support Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for two Year 1 pupils at a welcoming primary school in Tamworth.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure pupils receive the tailored support they need to access learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

• Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant position
• Based at a primary school in Tamworth
• Providing 2:1 support for two pupils in Year 1
• Supporting pupils’ learning, engagement and participation in lessons
• Delivering targeted interventions and tailored support strategies
• Assisting with social, emotional and behavioural development
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND
• Experience within a primary school setting is desirable
• Patient, nurturing and proactive approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
• Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
