As our wonderful school continues to grow, the Governing Body of this popular primary school seek to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, creative and motivated School Business Manager to lead our Administrative Department.

Wheatley Hill Primary has a substantial school budget of over £3.5 Million, so we are looking for a highly skilled Business Manager, who has an excellent understanding of Finance, Budget Management and Human Resource Management.

The post holder will be accountable to the Headteacher and work as part of the Senior Leadership Team in ensuring that the school meets its educational aims.

The School Business Manager is responsible for providing professional leadership of all non-curriculum aspects of the school in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement.

The post holder is expected to promote the highest standards of business ethos within the school and strategically ensure the most effective use of resources in support of its learning objectives.
In particular the School Business Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of the school’s financial resources, administration, GDPR, management information systems and IT, HR, facilities and property, health and safety, governance, compliance and marketing.

They will advise on and implement the day-to-day support that enables the school to operate effectively and efficiently, and that allows other members of the leadership team to focus on teaching and learning.

Standard term time only pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
• Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus
• Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus
• Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days)
Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave. For example:

Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 27 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 45 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service:
38 weeks (term time) + 32 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments
