About the role
Admin Officer
Location: Peterborough, PE1-1EJ Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Pay rate: £12.86ph

Our Client is hiring an Admin Officer to support the smooth running of courts and tribunals in Peterborough-helping progress cases and supporting the wider team with accurate, customer-focused administration.
What you'll be doing:
* Preparing papers, files and court/tribunal documentation for hearings, meetings and proceedings
* Updating and maintaining records on an in-house computer system, including data input
* Handling post opening and dispatch, general photocopying and filing
* Booking and organising meeting rooms, preparing agendas, joining instructions and handouts
* Drafting standard letters and correspondence, and taking minutes/notes according to guidelines
* Clerking civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings-ensuring materials are up to date
* Supporting listing and rota activities, checking files, and assisting court users with enquiries
* Communicating with relevant parties to schedule and serve documents, including payment handling where required
* Checking and verifying documents, records and returns against procedures and quality standards
* Producing basic statistical analysis reports and straightforward financial processing when needed
* Working with your team to support Team Information Board (TIB) meetings and continuous improvement
What you'll bring:
* Strong customer service skills, with the confidence to interact politely and helpfully face-to-face, by phone and in writing
* A careful, accurate approach to administration, records and documentation
* The ability to follow guidelines and instructions-while using discretion and initiative within set processes
* Comfort with problem-solving using lean techniques, escalating complex issues to a team leader/supervisor
* Solid computer skills to complete your day-to-day work effectively
* Flexibility to support ad hoc tasks and other local office needs as required
Additional information:
* You may have regular contact with court/tribunal users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession.
