About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a Composite Boatbuilder to join our client on a contract basis, supporting the build, refurbishment, and upgrade of specialist marine vessels.

Working within a modern composite manufacturing facility, you will carry out a range of boatbuilding and fit-out activities, including trimming, bonding, gluing, component installation, assembly, and laminating work on composite vessel projects.

The ideal candidate will have previous boatbuilding, composite manufacturing, or marine production experience and be confident working from engineering drawings and standardised work instructions. Candidates from related industries such as aerospace, automotive composites, or advanced manufacturing will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trim and prepare composite components for installation.
  • Install, fit, and bond furniture, equipment, and larger composite structures.
  • Carry out gluing and bonding activities to specification.
  • Assist with the assembly and installation of marine structures and components.
  • Undertake laminating work where required.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production and project deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in boatbuilding, composite manufacturing, marine production, or a similar environment.
  • Experience of trimming, bonding, gluing, laminating, and component installation.
  • Ability to work with large composite structures and assemblies.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship.

Contract Details

  • Current contract until the end of January 2027.
  • 42 hours per week.
  • Start time: 7:00am or 7:30am.
  • PAYE: £17.50/h plus £2.11/h holiday pay.
  • Umbrella: £23.44/h
  • Start date: Asap

This is an excellent opportunity to work on specialist composite marine vessels within a highly skilled manufacturing environment, contributing to the delivery and enhancement of craft operating in demanding maritime applications.
