Title: Senior Risk Specialist
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid working available)
Rate: £63 - £76 per hour UMB (Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: 52 Weeks
Security Clearance: SC Clearance Required
Fulltime 40 hrs per week, Monday-Friday
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Risk Specialist to join a major project within a highly regulated environment. This role sits within a dynamic Project Controls team, supporting the successful delivery of complex projects through effective risk and opportunity management across the full project lifecycle.
The Role
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining project risk registers, managing monthly risk reporting requirements, and leading risk and opportunity management activities from project inception through to close-out.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing Project Risk & Opportunity Management Plans in line with business policies, procedures, and commercial requirements.
Leading risk identification, assessment, and treatment processes across multiple projects.
Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement to drive proactive risk management.
Producing risk analysis, performance reporting, conclusions, and recommendations for project and business stakeholders.
Managing time and cost contingency allowances and ensuring risk strategies align with financial and commercial objectives.
Supporting effective opportunity realisation while reducing project threats.
Requirements
Essential Experience
Significant recent experience in a dedicated Risk & Opportunity Management role.
Experience working within highly regulated industries (defence experience desirable).
Strong understanding of project delivery across the full lifecycle, from bid phase through to project completion.
Knowledge of contract frameworks and delivery models such as NEC3, NEC4, FIDIC and JCT.
Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Professional body membership is desirable.
APM qualification preferred, with Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status considered highly advantageous.
