Service Manager – Key Requirements

The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring the dealership’s service operation runs efficiently, commercially and to budget.

Key areas include:

• Managing and developing the service team.
• Overseeing Service Advisors and Technicians.
• Ensuring technicians are achieving strong levels of productive/sold time.
• Managing customer vehicle throughput and ensuring vehicles are serviced and returned efficiently.
• Maintaining cost-effective dealership operations.
• Monitoring performance against budgets and KPIs.
• Developing the team and improving operational performance.
• Previous experience managing or developing a successful dealership/service operation is highly desirable.

Hiring Process:

• For Service Manager and other senior positions:
• Initial interview with the Brand Manager / Director.
• Further interview with the Group COO.
• Strong preference for candidates with a proven track record of successful performance within another motor trade business.
• Internal progression is encouraged, with external candidates considered where they demonstrate the right experience and potential.

Salary Guide:

• Service / Management-level positions: approximately £45,000+ basic, depending on role and experience.
