About the role
The Shifts Intake Operatives work on a two-week rotating shift pattern , AM & PM: AM Shift Monday: 03:15 – 14:15 Tuesday-Friday: 05:45-14:15 Saturday: 05:45-11:45 PM Shift Monday-Friday 14:10-22:40 The rate of pay is £14.50 per hour , with supplements for unsociable hours on a Monday day shift, plus enhanced pay for Saturdays. A realistic average (over 2 weeks) weekly gross salary of £626 is achievable if all contracted hours are worked. Main Responsibilities As an Intake Operative, you will be working within our Primary (Slaughterhouse) Department handling unprepared birds. You’ll be expected to: Undertake “hang-on” operations, in line with company and customer standards. Monitor vital signs and be able to follow emergency protocols in case of an Animal Welfare related incident. Report issues directly to Animal Welfare Officer or Department Management as appropriate. Ensure that kill lines are full at all times. Follow Health and Safety guidelines, looking after yourself and your colleagues. Adhere to the strict housekeeping standards expected by the company and its customers. The Ideal Candidate Candidates MUST be able to read and write in English as it is a requirement of UK law that all Intake Operatives hold a slaughter licence, the assessment for this licence is only available in English. This is a physically demanding role that will require repetitive movements with the arms, back and shoulders. Experience within food manufacturing would be advantageous, but what we are really looking for is: Honesty – Be open with us, we understand that sometimes your personal life takes priority, so speak to us, let us know…we can try our best to work things out together.
