Senior Private Family Fee Earner

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset – Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 – £75,000 DOE
Working Pattern: Hybrid – regular office attendance required

About the Role

Kingsgate Recruitment is working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Private Family Fee Earner to play a key role in the continued development and growth of its Private Family team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to mentor colleagues, develop client relationships and contribute to the strategic direction of the department.

The successful candidate will join an established team and will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the future growth of the Private Family offering.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of private family matters.
• Providing high-quality, commercially focused advice to clients.
• Handling complex and sensitive family law cases with confidence and professionalism.
• Supporting the development and growth of the Private Family department.
• Mentoring and supporting junior fee earners and other members of the team.
• Building strong relationships with existing clients and professional contacts.
• Helping to identify opportunities for new business and departmental growth.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
• Maintaining excellent standards of client care and compliance.

About You

To be considered for this senior position, you must be either:

• A qualified Solicitor; or
• A Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) with practising rights.

You will also have:

• Significant experience in private family law.
• Strong technical knowledge and the confidence to handle complex matters.
• Excellent client management and communication skills.
• The ability and enthusiasm to mentor and develop colleagues.
• A commercial approach and an interest in helping to grow a successful department.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own caseload effectively.

Hybrid Working

The firm offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement; however, due to the senior and collaborative nature of this position, candidates must be able to attend the Bridgwater office on a regular basis.

This position is not available on a fully remote basis.

Salary & Benefits

£50,000 – £75,000 per annum, depending on experience.
