The Opportunity
We are working with a prestigious global insurer to recruit an experienced Senior Reserving Actuary into its Global Actuarial function.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious actuary looking to move beyond traditional reserving and gain greater exposure to global transformation, advanced analytics and strategic business initiatives.
Working within a highly regarded actuarial team, you will play an important role in shaping the future of global reserving, driving improvements in processes, technology and reporting while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
The role offers a fantastic balance of hands-on technical reserving, transformation projects and wider business influence.
Key Responsibilities
Support quarterly reserving processes, reserve reviews, reporting and Reserve Committee presentations.
Perform reserving analysis, including reserve adequacy, actual versus expected (AvE) and embedded margin analysis.
Contribute to global reserving transformation initiatives, improving consistency, efficiency and automation.
Develop and enhance reserving tools, reporting dashboards and analytical solutions.
Support the development and implementation of new reserving methodologies and processes.
Work with actuarial and data tools including ResQ, Excel, SQL, Python and Alteryx.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Actuarial, Finance, Claims, Underwriting and Executive Leadership.
Support technology and data integration projects to improve reserving capabilities.
Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI and advanced analytics.
Contribute to wider global actuarial projects, providing technical insight and supporting strategic decision-making.
About You
We are keen to speak with qualified actuaries who have a strong reserving background and an interest in developing their experience beyond traditional actuarial responsibilities.
Ideally, you will bring:
Qualified Actuary status (IFoA or equivalent).
Approximately 4-8+ years of actuarial experience, ideally within general insurance or reinsurance.
Strong technical reserving knowledge and experience of reserve analysis and reporting.
Experience using actuarial tools such as ResQ, Excel or similar.
Exposure to SQL, Python, Alteryx or other analytical tools would be advantageous.
An interest in actuarial transformation, process improvement and automation.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to translate complex analysis into meaningful business insights.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is not simply another traditional reserving position.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Join a prestigious, globally recognised insurer with an established actuarial function.
Gain exposure to global reserving operations and high-profile transformation programmes.
Work on projects involving automation, data analytics and evolving actuarial technologies.
Influence reserving processes and contribute to strategic improvements across the business.
Build relationships with senior actuarial and executive stakeholders.
Benefit from a competitive salary of up to £120,000, bonus and an exceptional benefits package.
Enjoy hybrid working, with three days per week in the London office.
