About the role
Admin Officer - Civil National Business Centre
Location: 21-27 St Katherines Street, Northampton, NN1 2LH
OFFICE BASED
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm (37 hours per week)
Salary: £13.25 per hour
Contract: Full-time, 9-month assignment with potential extension based on performance
Proposed Start Date: 20 July 2026. Subject to Compliance Checks.
Our client is seeking a proactive and adaptable Temporary Admin Officer to join their Civil National Business Centre team in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment where customer service is at the core of everything we do.
What you'll be doing:
* Handling calls from the public, providing assistance with claims and responding to queries
* Maintaining regular contact with court staff across processing sites nationwide
* Resolving customer queries through various contact channels, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Coordinating appointment dates with customers
* Managing phone and administrative tasks efficiently
* Following set procedures while exercising independent judgement under supervision
* Preparing routine correspondence and acting as an administrative liaison
* Updating in-house systems and sending out letters, applications, and orders
What you'll bring:

* Flexibility to adapt across teams and processes, with a willingness to learn and grow
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a customer-focused mindset
* Strong communication skills and computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications

Additional information:
* Full training will be provided over two weeks
* Limited parking available on-site
* During the initial training period, holiday requests should be minimised to ensure full participation in group training sessions
* This roles requires a Basic DBS check
- Please Note: More than 6 months spent outside of the UK within the last 3 years will need to be covered by an Overseas Police Check. The candidate will need to supply this check.
