About the Role
Barnet Council is looking for a Planning Officer to join its Planning and Building Control service.
This is a generic Planning Officer role, with the service operating a rotation programme that gives officers the opportunity to work across different planning specialisms. The successful candidate will be expected to take the lead on general areas of planning work and contribute to the delivery of the Council’s planning priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute positively to the Planning and Building Control service.
- Lead on general areas of planning work within the relevant unit.
- Work across different planning specialisms as part of the service’s rotation programme.
- Deliver work to agreed quality and performance standards.
- Manage responsibilities in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
- Support the aims, objectives and priorities of Barnet Council.
- Travel outside of the Borough when required to deliver services on behalf of Barnet Council.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- Attendance at the office is required on fixed days each week.
- The role may require occasional travel outside of the Borough.
