Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Rotherham (S63)
Setting: Integrated Resource within a primary school
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver planned learning activities for individuals and small groups of pupils.
• Support the class teacher with lesson preparation, planning and delivery.
• Take responsibility for learning activities when required, including covering classes or groups in the teacher’s absence.
• Support pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs within the Integrated Resource.
• Adapt and differentiate learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and wider team.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to ensure pupils receive consistent support.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and engagement in learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where appropriate.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils with their communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
• SEND experience is highly desirable.

The Ideal Candidate

• HLTA qualification or relevant experience in a higher-level teaching assistant role.
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
• Confident leading learning activities independently.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Patient, caring and committed to supporting pupils to achieve their potential.
