About the role
Wootton St Andrew’s CE (VA) Primary School
The Headteacher and Governors of Wootton St Andrew’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a passionate, committed and enthusiastic class teacher to join our small, hardworking and dedicated team.
Wootton St Andrew’s is a small, friendly and ambitious Church of England primary school where relationships matter and every child is known and valued. Our Christian vision is at the heart of everything we do:
“Rooted in the Wootton Way, journeying together in the light of Love, Joy, Courage and Trust.”
Through our values of Love, Joy, Courage and Trust, we encourage everyone to “Let their light shine”, recognising and nurturing the unique gifts, talents and potential of every child and adult.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us at an important point in our school’s journey. We are a busy, forward-thinking small school with small classes, high expectations and a strong sense of community. Staff know our children and families well, work closely together and have opportunities to contribute to many different aspects of school life.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner who will provide high-quality teaching and learning, build positive relationships and ensure that every pupil is supported and challenged to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will also positively support and contribute to the Christian character, vision and values of our school.
We are particularly interested in a candidate who:
is an enthusiastic, skilled and reflective classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils;
has a caring and nurturing approach and is committed to inclusion;
can inspire, motivate and challenge children to achieve their best;
will actively support the Christian ethos, vision and values of our school;
understands the opportunities and demands of working in a small primary school;
is flexible, proactive, organised and solution focused;
enjoys working collaboratively as part of a small team;
can build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents, governors, our church and wider community;
is committed to their own professional development;
will bring enthusiasm, ideas and energy to the wider life of the school.
In return, we can offer:
small classes, enabling teachers to know their pupils extremely well;
enthusiastic, friendly children who are eager to learn;
a welcoming and supportive Church of England school community;
a dedicated and hardworking staff team;
strong relationships between children, staff and families;
a varied and rewarding working environment;
a supportive Headteacher and Governing Body who value staff expertise and ideas;
opportunities to contribute to and help shape the continuing development of the school;
excellent opportunities for professional development;
strong links with our local church and wider community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to become a genuine part of our school and contribute to the next stage of Wootton St Andrew’s journey.
