Senior Civil Engineer

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy in the highways sector, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a contract opportunity. The role will involve supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise across the planning, design and construction stages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and delivering civil engineering designs for highways and infrastructure projects
• Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications and design documentation
• Providing technical guidance and support to project teams and junior engineers
• Contributing to the assessment, design and improvement of transport infrastructure
• Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
• Reviewing designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements
• Supporting project planning, risk management and successful delivery within agreed timescales

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in civil engineering within the highways or infrastructure sector
• Strong knowledge of highway design principles, standards and construction methodologies
• Experience delivering civil engineering designs from concept through to construction
• Understanding of infrastructure project processes, technical approvals and health and safety requirements
• Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software
• Strong technical report writing, communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
• Relevant civil engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification
