About the role

I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced CE&I Engineer to join the TDA Portfolio and support the successful delivery of the Legacy Pond Enhancement Programme.

This is initially a 12 month contract role inside IR35 with rates starting from £45ph+.
SC clearance is required for this role.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring CE&I design deliverables are planned, coordinated, reviewed, and completed in accordance with nuclear industry standards, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, the CE&I Engineer will interface regularly with project managers, construction teams, electrical personnel, subcontractors, and stakeholders across the project lifecycle.

The role requires a proactive individual capable of working independently while also supporting and mentoring developing engineers and apprentices.

This position is ideally suited to candidates with previous experience in the nuclear sector and a strong understanding of working within highly regulated environments.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver CE&I engineering design solutions in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Produce and review engineering documentation, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical submissions.

Coordinate CE&I activities with other engineering disciplines including mechanical, civil, process, and construction teams.

Ensure designs comply with nuclear safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Support site surveys, inspections, commissioning activities, and technical problem-solving.

Liaise with project stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams to resolve technical issues.

Assist with planning and managing engineering deliverables to achieve project milestones.

Participate in design reviews, safety reviews, and verification activities.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Demonstrable CE&I engineering experience within a highly regulated industry.

Proven experience producing CE&I design documentation and engineering deliverables.

Proficient user of AutoCAD, Amtech / Trimble Electrical Design Software & Microsoft Office applications.

Strong technical report writing and document preparation skills.

Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and specifications.

Experience supporting design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to manage workload independently and deliver against programme deadlines.

Previous experience working on nuclear licensed sites.

Understanding of Sellafield and/or nuclear industry processes and procedures.

Ability to obtain and maintain site security clearance.

Ability to operate independently on site with minimal supervision.

R2/C2 Working Capability

Experience of emergency lighting design.

Knowledge of SLMS and Sellafield management systems.

Capable of obtaining Monitored / Classified Worker Status and unescorted plant access
