Senior Operational Technology (OT) Engineer – Substation Control Systems

£550-£600 per day | Initial 6-Month Contract | Strong Likelihood of Extension

We’re supporting a leading utilities organisation in the search for a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to play a key role in the development, assurance and standardisation of Substation Control Systems across critical national infrastructure.

This is a highly technical position suited to a subject matter expert in Protection & Control, Network Automation or Substation SCADA Systems, with experience developing engineering standards, assuring new technologies, evaluating equipment, and providing technical leadership across operational technology environments.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience within Substation SCADA, Protection & Control, or Network Automation environments.
• Expertise working with technologies such as RTUs, PLCs, Protection Relays, DNP3, IEC61850 and substation control systems.
• Experience developing standards, policies, technical procedures and engineering governance.
• Ability to evaluate, test and assure new OT products and solutions.
• Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks and critical infrastructure environments.
• Comfortable acting as a technical authority and engaging with vendors, engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
