Are you an experienced Fire Designer with data centre experience looking for your next contract opportunity? As a Fire Designer, you will be responsible for designing fire protection and detection systems — including fire alarms, suppression, and smoke control — for large-scale, mission-critical data centre environments, ensuring all designs meet stringent safety and compliance requirements. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire and security solutions to its customers.

Responsibilities:

* Design and develop fire protection and detection systems tailored for data centre environments, covering fire alarms, suppression, and smoke control.
* Produce and review fire system drawings, schematics, and detailed design documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and frameworks, including BS 5839, BS 6266, NFPA 75/76, and EN requirements.
* Coordinate with MEP, electrical, and architectural teams to integrate fire system designs into overall project plans.
* Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and system performance evaluations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Support installation and commissioning teams with technical guidance and design clarifications as required.

Experience and Certifications required:

* Demonstrable experience as a Fire Designer or Fire Protection Engineer, with proven data centre project experience essential.
* Strong knowledge of fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems, including gaseous and water mist technologies.
* Proficiency in design tools including AutoCAD and Revit.
* Solid understanding of relevant codes and compliance frameworks, including BS 5839, BS 6266, and NFPA 75/76.
* Full UK driving licence required for occasional on-site visits.
* FIA or IFE membership (desirable).
