About the role

We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, professional, and welcoming School Receptionist to join our busy secondary school in Salford. As the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and external agencies, you will play a vital role in creating a positive impression of our school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient reception and administrative service, supporting the day-to-day operations of the school and ensuring that all visitors receive a warm and professional welcome.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and supportive team committed to delivering outstanding services to our school community.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous reception, customer service or administrative experience.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office applications and school management systems (training will be provided where necessary).
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Remain calm, professional and approachable in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

We also believe in offering our staff 'more pay, more time and more support'.

More pay:

  • We offer a health cash plan giving you money towards essential medical treatment - including eye care and flu vaccinations;
  • Our staff discount scheme saves you money on supermarket shopping, gym memberships, holidays, breakdown cover, car leasing, cycle schemes and more.

More time:

  • All our academies start every term with an additional INSET day set aside for your own planning (in addition to the usual five INSET days- giving you eight in total);
  • At least one guaranteed paid personal day each year, to use as you want; and we offer opportunities for flexible working.

More support:

  • We provide high quality training and development for every stage in your career;
  • We offer access to a comprehensive wellbeing programme, providing support from legal and financial to family and housing and access to free counselling and other wellbeing support.

United Learning: A place where you can thrive

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for successful applicants

Closing date - 16th October 2026

Interviews - week commencing 19th October 2026
