Do you have a STEM degree and an interest in sales, customer relationships, bids and cutting-edge maritime technology?
TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for a Graduate Product / Sales Manager to join its Surface Ship Systems Division. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate who wants to build a career combining technical products, customer engagement, sales strategy and bid management within the defence and maritime sector.
You’ll work closely with customers, internal teams and senior stakeholders to support the capture and delivery of opportunities across sonar and wider underwater security products.
About the role
As a Graduate Product / Sales Manager, you will support the management and development of ship products while becoming a key point of contact for customer bid management activities within the Surface Ship Systems Division.
Reporting to the Head of Sales – Surface Ships Systems Division, you will have the opportunity to develop your commercial and leadership skills while gaining exposure to a range of teams across TKMS ATLAS UK and the wider TKMS Group.
The graduate programme is designed to support you from day one, with structured learning and development, regular progress reviews, a dedicated graduate project and support from a buddy and mentor.
Key responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting sales capture and pursuit activities
- Supporting and eventually leading bid proposals
- Working towards agreed sales targets
- Contributing to product strategy development
- Developing customer and stakeholder relationships in the UK and overseas
- Working closely with internal teams to develop bids and product offerings
- Supporting the delivery of sonar and wider underwater security products
- Building relationships across different divisions within the TKMS Group
- Engaging with senior management and key stakeholders
- Developing towards responsibility for leading teams and delivering bids
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to have previous sales or defence experience — TKMS ATLAS UK is looking for someone with the potential and drive to develop.
Essential:
- Currently studying towards a STEM-related degree
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Hard-working, dedicated and goal-driven
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to develop a career within sales and product management
Desirable:
- Awareness or understanding of naval, maritime or military systems
- An interest in defence, maritime technology or underwater security
- The potential to develop and manage customer networks
- The potential to lead teams and deliver successful bids
