Senior Finance Officer

Overview

Debbie Burbage Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Finance Officer for an established Northampton based business, joining a busy finance team in a role with plenty of variety and responsibility. This isn’t a position where you will be doing the same thing day after day. You will have your own areas to look after, deal with queries as they arise and work closely with colleagues throughout the business.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Keeping on top of the day to day financial activity and making sure records are accurate and up to date
• Managing supplier and customer accounts, dealing with queries and resolving issues
• Preparing and processing payment runs
• Raising invoices, allocating payments and keeping an eye on outstanding balances
• Completing bank reconciliations and making sure any differences are investigated
• Checking transactions and spotting anything that doesn’t look quite right
• Helping keep cash and payment information accurate and up to date
• Supporting payroll information and finance administration where required
• Providing information to colleagues and answering finance related queries
• Helping with month end to make sure everything is complete and ready for reporting
• Keeping financial records organised and ensuring the right supporting information is in place
• Looking for practical ways to make the everyday finance processes work better
• Being someone the wider team can turn to when they need help with a finance query

The Candidate

You will already have a good level of practical finance experience and be comfortable working across different areas of accounts. You don’t necessarily need to be qualified. We are equally interested in someone who has built their knowledge through experience and really understands how a busy finance function works. You will be organised, accurate and comfortable taking responsibility for your own workload. You will also be someone who enjoys solving problems, helping others and being part of a team rather than simply processing transactions. This could be a really good move for someone who has built a solid foundation in accounts and is looking for more ownership, more variety and the opportunity to become a trusted member of the finance team. Remuneration

• £32,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm (office based).
• 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• On site Parking, Pension

This role is based in Northampton and is within commutable distance of Wellingborough, Kettering, Daventry, Towcester, Rugby, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Brackley and surrounding areas.
