Vacancy for Level 1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Meridian Trust Grade 4, Point 3 £12,485

Hours of work: 21 hours per week

Contract type: 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 days)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at Crosshall Junior School! You will play an important role in supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development by creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with class teachers to provide high quality support that enables pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Opportunity

  • Supervise activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all children to reach their potential.
  • Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships.
  • Join a dedicated, enthusiastic team, within a supportive MAT.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare, physical and mental well-being of all pupils.

The ideal candidate

  • Holds a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Understands how children learn.
  • Is skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to develop and sustain positive relationships with pupils.
