Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established accountancy practice in Central London, which is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working closely with clients and is looking to take the next step in their career within a professional and supportive environment.

The Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services while working closely with colleagues and clients.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients
    • Preparing management accounts and financial reports
    • Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
    • Preparing personal tax returns where required
    • Managing client deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
    • Reviewing accounts and work prepared by junior members of the team
    • Liaising directly with clients and responding to accounting and tax queries
    • Providing clients with practical advice and support
    • Assisting with ad hoc accounting and advisory projects
    • Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team

About You
We're looking for an experienced accountant with a background in practice who is confident managing client relationships and working across a varied portfolio.

To be considered for this Senior Accountant position, you will ideally have:
  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice
    • Strong experience in accounts preparation
    • Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and relevant tax legislation
    • Experience preparing corporation tax computations
    • Strong attention to detail and numerical ability
    • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
    • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively
    • AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience
    • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks would be advantageous
