Advanced Community Psychiatric Nurse

Starting Salary: FIG Grade C £43,141 - £49,590 dependent on qualifications and experience. 

Salary package also includes:

The post is for a fixed term of up to four years in the first instance with the possibility of extension. Secondment and Interchange opportunities will be considered.

The Opportunity:

The Falkland Islands Government is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Advanced Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join our Emotional Wellbeing Service. This is a unique opportunity to work within a small, supportive team delivering recovery-focused mental health care across the lifespan in one of the world's most distinctive and rewarding locations.

The Role:

To lead the referral and therapeutic interventions for service users, as necessary, in order to support the positive wellbeing and Mental Health of our community using a recovery-based model of care.    To work as part of a multidisciplinary Emotional Wellbeing Service in the Falkland Islands to deliver high quality, recovery-focused, person-centred care to a caseload of service users across the lifespan with a wide range of mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. To contribute to the promotion of emotional and mental wellbeing within the Falkland Islands community using relevant, up-to-date, evidence-based policies, procedures and guidelines within the resources of the Falkland Islands Health and Social Services Directorate.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualified Mental Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse with current registration with the NMC or equivalent.

Proven record of continued professional development and be able to mainatin registration as a Mental Health Nurse/Psychatric Nurse via NMC re-validation process or equivalent. 

Full driving license and the ability to drive to remote locations, including some difficult driving conditions. 

Post graduate qualification in a relevant field.
