Residential Support Worker

Pertemps Lincoln are recruiting for Residential Support Workers to work for our customer’s residential children’s home, supporting the young people in their care and helping provide a safe, supportive and positive environment.
The home is based in Gainsborough. This is a great opportunity for people looking for long-term employment within a residential childcare setting. 

What duties will I have?

• Supporting young people in their day-to-day activities and routines 
  
  
• Providing a safe, caring and supportive environment 
  
  
• Supporting children with activities, appointments and outings 
  
  
• Driving children to various locations using a company vehicle 
  
  
• Helping maintain a positive and structured home environment 
  
  
• Working effectively as part of a residential care team
  
  
• Following company policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements
  
  
• Completing relevant records and documentation accurately
  
  

What skills and experience do I need?

• 6 months previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or support setting is essential
  
  
• A caring, patient and supportive approach
  
  
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
  
  
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  
  
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  
  
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures
  
  
• Full UK driving licence is required, as you will be required to drive children in a company vehicle
  
  
• Flexibility to work residential shift patterns, including sleep ins
  
  

How much will I be paid?

£13.00–£14.00 per hour + £60 per sleep-in

What hours will I need to work?

A minimum of 37.5 hours per week, with plenty of overtime opportunities available.

The role operates on a residential shift pattern involving sleep ins.Shift pattern: 
Hours Day 1 10:00am–11:00pm + sleep-in
Day 2 7:30am–11:00pm + sleep-in
Day 3 7:30am–10:00am, then finish
